Built for the Elements
I started framing houses in 2015 with one goal in mind — to build my own home in Montana.
At the time, I was working as a hotshot firefighter during the summers and framing through the winters. For six years, that was the cycle. Fire season in the mountains. Construction when the snow set in.
In 2020, I transitioned into building full time.
Today, my wife and I live outside of Livingston in the mountains with our livestock. Building here isn’t an idea to me — it’s where we live.
Experience That Shapes the Work
Framing houses taught me how homes truly go together — not just how they look when finished, but how they’re structured and how they last.
Working as a hotshot taught me something different: preparation matters, conditions change quickly, and you don’t cut corners.
Both experiences carry into how I build now. When you’re building in Montana, the land and the weather aren’t minor considerations. They’re part of the job from day one.
A Hands-On Builder
I’m a general contractor, but I’m also a carpenter. I stay involved throughout the build and work closely with a group of local subcontractors I trust. Most of us have known each other for years, and we care about the reputation of our work in this community.
Clients work directly with me from start to finish.
Why Kavik
Kavik is named after our shepherd mix, who has been at my side for years — steady, reliable, and always ready to head into the mountains.
That’s the spirit I try to bring to every project:
Loyalty. Dependability. Endurance.
Homes Made for Montana.
